We're starting a church in Northwest Arkansas!
It was January 28, 2017. While attending a missions conference at our church, Megan had a hunch that God may be calling us to move to Fayetteville, AR to help launch a new church.
Independently, I had also thought that perhaps we would move to Fayetteville one day, though I had kept it to myself until then. Of course, we shelved all of this at the time, thinking maybe in ten years we would do such a thing. Megan was still in school, I was working two jobs, and we were swimming in nearly $100,00 of student loan debt. Yet, within three months, we were 100% debt-free. Within five, Megan had graduated with a Master's in Accounting. And within a year ... we had nearly forgotten about Arkansas! |
After all, we were only 22 at the time thus and had no avenue to start a church. So instead, we focused on what we could see.
Megan crushed her CPA exams and jumped into work as an auditor, and I joined our college ministry staff full-time. By spring of 2018, we were itching to lay down our roots in Bryan / College Station by buying our first home. Then we had another one of those 'senses' - don't buy a house yet. We weren't sure why, but we both felt like maybe the timing wasn't quite right. Well, within a few weeks, the man who married us told us he and his family would be moving to start a church in Fayetteville, and that they wanted us to be their college pastors. The rest is history! |
